Clean the product

Before taking photos, make sure to wipe or wash the product. A clean piece of furniture looks more appealing to potential buyers and gives a better overall impression. Used products often have marks that may appear permanent but can usually be removed with a cloth and a little soap.

Lighting

Photograph in natural daylight to capture colors and materials accurately. Place the furniture near a window so that the light falls softly from the side. Avoid backlighting and turn off other light sources in the room to prevent mixed color temperatures.

Background

Use a clean and bright background, such as a white or light gray wall, to keep the focus on the furniture. Avoid cluttered environments or backgrounds with other furniture, as they can make the image harder to interpret.

Angles

You need at least one image to list a product on the Marketplace, but we recommend uploading several, up to five in total. Photograph the product from a front angle, straight on, and from the side. Include close-ups showing materials, markings, or signs of wear. The first image must always show the entire product, with no parts cropped out.

Note

We understand that it is not always possible to follow this guide exactly, especially when photographing larger items such as cabinets or bookshelves. This will not affect whether your product is approved, but following these tips increases your chances of attracting interest and making a sale.
